ISON Certification Pathway in Neuropelveology

Advancing Knowledge – From Fundamentals to Surgical Expertise

The International School of Neuropelveology (ISNP), under the academic guidance of the International Society of Neuropelveology (ISON) and the scientific direction of Prof. Marc Possover, offers a structured, stepwise educational pathway designed to train physicians in the emerging discipline of Neuropelveology - from theoretical foundations to clinical and surgical mastery.

Each level builds upon the previous one, combining scientific knowledge, clinical reasoning, and practical surgical insight.
Participants receive official ISON Certificates upon successful completion of each stage.

🟦 LEVEL 1 – Foundations of Neuropelveology

Option A: E-Learning Program (self-paced)

A comprehensive digital course introducing the principles of Neuropelveology:

pelvic neuroanatomy, mechanisms of pelvic nerve pain, and diagnostic concepts.
Accessible worldwide through the ISNP online platform.

• Duration: ~20 hours (self-paced)

• Format: Online videos + reading materials + final exam

• Certificate: ISON Level 1 E-Learning Certificate

Option B: Interactive Webinar (Live on Zoom)

A live, instructor-led program providing theoretical foundations and interactive case discussions.
Includes live Q&A and a short certification assessment.

• Duration: 3 sessions (4 hours each) + final exam

• Certificate: ISON Level 1 Webinar Certificate

🟩 LEVEL 2 – Advanced Clinical and Surgical Training

Option A: Online Workshop (Live via Zoom)

An advanced, interactive Masterclass focusing on clinical diagnosis and surgical principles.
Participants learn through pre-recorded diagnostic sessions, video-based dissections, and live discussions with Prof. Possover.

• Duration: 3 sessions × 4–5 hours = 12–15 hours

• Format: Live Zoom sessions + video demonstrations + Q&A

• Certificate: ISON Level 2 Online Workshop Certificate

Option B: On-Site Workshop (Zurich, Switzerland)

A practical, hands-on course held at the Possover International Medical Center and partner anatomical laboratories.
Participants gain experience in cadaveric dissections, surgical access to pelvic nerves, and intraoperative decision-making.

• Duration: 2.5 days (intensive program)

• Format: Cadaver lab + Live surgery demonstrations + discussion

• Certificate: ISON Level 2 Workshop Certificate

 

 

​​🟨 Clinical Observership 

​

The highest stage of training in Neuropelveology — a three-month clinical immersion in Zurich with Prof. Marc Possover.
Participants observe real surgical procedures, neuropelveological consultations, and multidisciplinary case discussions, consolidating their knowledge and preparing for independent clinical application.

• Duration: 3 months

• Location: Zurich, Switzerland

• Focus Areas:

  • Advanced pelvic nerve diagnostics

  • Laparoscopic nerve decompression and neuromodulation (LION procedure)

  • Management of endometriosis and pelvic neuropathies

  • Functional neuromodulation for bladder and bowel disorders

• Certificate: ISON Level 3 Fellowship / Observership Certificate
